I'm just wondering, where do you put them? I'm thinking about adding a couple of uv led's into my psu so I can make the fans glow, and also maybe a few orange ones around the case.

But where do you put them? Do you make holders or something? Just leave them hanging around? I don't understand :B

    Thanks for any help

They usually come with little swivel mount's .... but i'll be honest ... i tried uv led's and they ain't good, By the time you get it to make a cable glow it's about 2 inche's or less away ... maybe my led's were crap but i tried a few and they were all the same ... you can dismantle them and stick them to the side of the fan .. the Uv Fan's you buy are exactly the same ... basically little uv led's stuck either side with duck tape or sellotape, Or just colored led's instead, I would only dismantle the led if you know what your doing though, it is pretty easy if you know a little about electric's but if not get someone else to do it,
Hope this help's a little, Gl,

Hmm, the place I get them from just gived you the led and a resistor for working at 12 volts.
I've tried looking for fans that are orange led fans not UV but I can't find any from shops here in NZ, which sucks cause that would be easier :p!

I will use uv cathodes to light up the main part of my case but the cathodes wouldn't light up fans inside the PSU would they?

I used strips of plastic - scrap black ABS from my local plastics shop - to mount my LED sets on. Electrical tape to hold the LEDs & wire to the plastic, and velcro underneath & on the inside wall of the case to hold the whole assembly in place.

I use 4 LEDs & a resistor in each string; one strip has two strings and the other has three; they're all connected to one Molex for power.

I'm currently building another strip to go on the roof of the case, that'll have another three strings of 4 LEDs and use the same power connection as the existing two strips. Total # of LEDs will be 32; the amount of power the whole lot of them consume is stupidly small. A single HDD or CD/DVD burner uses more power, so I've got no worries about having them all on one Molex.

I lack a digital camera (and the room lighting by my computer sucks anyway), so pics are unlikely... sorry.

But the plastic strips are about the size of an ordinary ruler - about 30cm/12" long and about 3cm/1" wide. The LEDs are spaced every inch or so.

The LED strings are taped down with black electrical tape, which works but isn't the prettiest option. Given that all the strips are out of sight of my case's window, I don't care what they look like.

I bought a couple feet of velcro, and use small pieces of that to hold the strips to the inside of the case. You could glue or tape them down, but velcro is longer-lasting than tape & still removable.

For the LEDs on the ceiling of my case, I had to do something a bit different. There are vent holes along the top edge of the sides on both sides of my case, so I glued narrow strips of plastic to the sides of a larger piece (about 6"x4") to prevent the LEDs from shining directly out of the vent holes.

I have done something similar as BBurger have done. I used plexiglass, though. I'll see if i can find some pictures later on. (to early in the morning yet)
