I’ve been trying to get a Wii for like 3 weeks now Firstly, game put me on their reserved list, i got to #5, and then they apparently got orders from HO to drop _all_ lists They said it was now first come first served, so i phoned them in the morning to check if they would be getting any Then, yesterday morning, they said that they won’t be getting any for 2-3 Weeks - and this seems to be all games in the country What on earth is going on, It’s over a year after launch and you _still_ can’t get a wii, and why this sudden 2-3week shortage? And finally, does anyone have any hints for getting one (around the RRP of £180 ....) - i.e. not paying £350 which is the current going rate from (whatever the name is of people who buy stuff to sell on when there is a shortage) Sigh Completemadness
easy answer use german amazon site Amazon.de use your usual amazon.co.uk login shipping is 6 euros total price is 257 euros so £184 ish. now had two people in my office go this route took about a week to deliver edit if you want an extra remote you'll have to go to amazon france.
Never thought of that! I'm assuming Wii's are European so will have instructions / warranty to cover UK even if brought from Germany/France?
yeah the Wii is hard to get. I got mine by luck really, I generally asked every electronics store I went into for whatever reason, last one I went into said they were getting a shipment in the next week. I got the last one out of 12 and about 4 other people were behind me The store sold out in under an hour

Shops here in Sheffield seem to have plenty of stock. My wife has seen video's of mario galaxy and now shes interestin one, I just think it will end up like her DS, not used when she completes mario.
Is there a way to get the site in english? Its quite hard to read in german (although by comparing to amazon.co.uk you can guess what stuff is doing)
Funny.. The 2 Gamestops at the mall near me are overstocked with Wiis.. I might just pick one up tomorrow with Mario ^-^
Nintendo says that there's unprecedented demand for the Wii this holiday season... IMO, that's still no reason to have shortage of stock, because, as you said, it's been almost a year since release.
Nintendo is playing games, literally. They have plenty made, but choose not to flood all of the markets with them to keep the demand up. And that is why you are seeing some places only sell them as bundles with a number of games and accessories. It's total crap if you ask me.
Keep a checking stockists via this site. I've had the opportunity to buy on a couple of occasions in the past few days.

I was at Toys 'R Us today and didn't see any Wii either. There were 360's though Oh and I saw Master Chief's head
hmmm....didn't have that error last week, suppose the german site might have gotten fed up shipping all it's wii's to GB. keep looking at other euro suppliers though, more stock over there than here.
