2X Sata Cables Motherboard mount screws with screws. Do scan sell these I cant see them on their site.
There's a number of reasons he might want those - self build (therefore need mb standoffs) - non-lock or non-angled SATA cables came with motherboard - Lost them - broke them. to the OP: you've already linked to the sata cables on Scan. as for the motherboard standoffs I didn't see any on Scan but a quick google turned up: http://www.mountainmods.com/brass-motherboard-standoff-10-pack-p-203.html or maybe a trip to Maplins
I ordered the sata cables for tommorow delivery, the hex screws.. Does any one know if motherboard mount screws ship with most high performance cases such as the coolermaster elite 340, Ill take a look later tonight other wise I will be out shoppnig saturday. Oh and it s a long story involving a failed return part shipment.. DragunovHUn ill let you know how Arma 2 works out
Yep, most cases should come with all necessary mounting hardware. As for ARMA 2, that's a bit random but certainly let me know how it works for you. Lots of people report lots of bugs but personally i hardly had a problem other than the huge ammount of resources it needs. The new i7 rig i'm building will hopefully fix that, though. And maybe a couple more patches.
good luck with your new i7 rig, keep us updated, pm me if you do any thing online with it, images or benchmarks. good luck and thanks for the info regarding mounting hex screws.
You guys on this forum are building rigs all the time. Has anyone do a video tutorial? Would be interesting to see because the only ones i have found are the ones you have to pay for, or just photos.
Video tutorial on what? Building a PC? In that case, just hit up YouTube. And don't worry, everything only goes in one way and you can't permamently ruin anything unless you take force to it so it's not as difficult as some people try to make it seem. If you've ever played LEGO, you should have no trouble with a PC build.
I tryed youtube but the only good ones were about 1 minute long and you had to buy the videos of there website. It would be nice just to view the whole progess of building a pc before i do so. Also who hasnt played Lego?
The best way to learn is just to do it - get everything that you need all on a roomy table and just take your time. It really is obvious what goes where, everything has a plug or slot of a particular size and orientation. If it doesn't fit right you've done it wrong.
Err... i don't even know how you managed to find those. I did some looking around a few months ago to see what quality those tutorials are and all i found were decent ones, all freeware.
For tools - a decent crosshead screwdriver is basically all you'll ever need - cableties and scissors if you're making it nice and neat. RwD
These are all of the cables necessary from the case excluding fans which just slot on to your mother board were it says FAN, of which you will have a number of fan sockets on the mother board. If you can see all of the cables are clearly labeled, the white block on the left, that was with the mother board, you simply put your cables into that and then fit the whole white block into the correct area on the board which is clearly labeled, the manual sets it out step by step if you dont have the white block just slot them into place in the labeled pins. Notice that lose long pannel, that ships with your mother board and will fit into your case, it snaps into place. Here it is almost snapped into place, then the mother board is fitted in behind it and all your ports are tidy. Encase you were woundering what it looked like on the backside of the white cable block. That whole unit just plugs into the system board to control all the important aspects of the case and the front USB just slots into the USB port on the systemboard. Just some tips. if fitting an added fan to your case make sure it is the right way round, the label is not always a indicator of dirrection, look a the blades for air dirrection. Spend extra care fitting the CPU, carefully complete the required steps to access the cpu bay and fit your cpu, earth yourself with a suitable wrist strap, deposable straps are available and ensure a good earthing of your body. If fitting a large gpu such as a gtx, make sure you remove the required amount of blanking plates, not just the slot for dvi or vga connector to poke out, but also the air vent slot which the card will populate and require free so as to allow air to pass freely. Take your time and dont force any thing if your not sure post on bit tech and some one will give you a hand.
Only the new ASUS boards have that white thing that bunch up your front panel connectors. It's not a standard.
They blow towards the sticker with specs written on... A good phillips-head screwdriver with a decent magnetic tip is all you'll ever need really tbh. I got mine from Tesco and it has a wonderful rubber handle too.
