    Hey
My Dad has this Coke cooler out in the shed that has been sitting around for over a year now. I was out there today painting and saw it and asked if he had any use for it, he said no and I asked if I could do what I want with it and he said ok. So I knew what it was, a big drink cooler, and I also knew that it would have to have a radiator on it. So I hauled it out and looked at it and took some pictures.

Does anyone know where I could post this to sell it?

Also do you think that someone might buy it? I've seen people use bigger radiators for cooling before and this should work great. There is a fairly big fan on the back which will keep it cool. The radiator itself is 13 inches wide and 11 inches high. Here are some pics:

I wish I could. I have a Dell 2400 desktop, it is pretty far from needing to be water cooled. I'm gonna upgrade soon and I'm trying to find a place to sell this to make some cash.

I'd be more interested in the compressor etc attached to that than the radiator itself tbh ;) Bit of work and you could have a decent single stage phase unit there...
BTW, be careful if the units still got gas in it, as it'll vent into the atmosphere if you cut the pipework. It's dangerous more importantly and also illegal to vent certain gases into the atmosphere....

I think the compressor is the reason it isn't running. And I live out in the middle of nowhere, if I vent gas I dout anyone will see/care. I think it's empty on gas anyway.

yeah dude I would use it as a crazy case mod. The compressor won't be good enough for the computer so just air cool that or water but make it a beer cooler with a computer in it a monitor and w/e else you can think of. That would be hot.

That thing is about 100 times too big to make into a mod. It's about 7 feet tall and weights a heck of a lot, I think my Dad is just tossing the rest of it and I might take the radiator and scrap metal to sell to a foundry.

    Whelan_999,

I have closed the duplicate copy of this thread in the modding section.

As well, please note that this is not a forum for selling items...I can see little purpose to this thread aside from that. However, I'm going to go on gut instinct that you are simply looking to solicit advice as to possible OTHER places to sell it, so I'm just going to remove your price mentions.

Sorry about that Da Dego. I know the Bit-Tech rules and I wasn't trying to break them, this place is too good to be banned from. Sorry for any confusion.

So does anyone know where to sell this at? Normal buy/sell forums like Red Flag Deals might not work, I was wondering if there is a computer only buy/sell forum that anyone knows about. Thanks

THat is a phase change wet dream in your hnds there.

I can think of a number of uses for such a system assuming the compressor is still in good working order and the gas it is rated to carry.

Unfortunitly it will cost 3 arms and a leg to ship, so your Very Best bet would be to take it down to fedex and get a shipping estimate then post it on ebay. You will have to discharge the system if it still has gas( a qualified HVAC tech should do this, not you) because some of the gasses are toxic or flamible. Ship it gound and post it on ebay

    it will sell there.

Make shure you keep the radiator, the compressor, and the condensor also ANY sarting capasators and the like for when you sell it.

that system is designed to keep that cooler at about 1C so think what it could do for your computer.... :D

Can you take a pic of the compressor name plate.

Yup I will tomorrow, so without the compressor is that radiator any good beacuse I think that is whats broke. If it is I'll ask my uncle to try and fix it and then I could sell it.

The comprssor can be looked at by an HVAC tech. but as just a rad, you wont get much, unless you sell it as a CONDENSOR which is what it is. condensors are a special kind of radiator. refregerant passes through it and is cooled before it re-enters the compressor. ONe this big would be a nice prize to a cascade builder.

Most people looking for rads that big for water would just as well buy an 80$ radiator new, or a 30$ heater core.

You may do better selling the compressor and all that as one unit but advertise it something like this....

drink cooler refregeration system. Non-op may need regas?

I know my spelling sucks but... meh
