I'm after things like molex connectors/pins, heatshrink and braiding but there doesn't seem to be many places that sell them and they are not that cheap (for a bit of plastic that cost less than 1p to make). I'm not paying £1 or so for 1 molex connector Basically I want to convert some cables on a few PSU's to be modular (as I don't need most of them) and also make some custom length modular cables.
I get most of my parts by gutting old systems. I take all the switches, wiring and plugs. Heatshrink can be found at hardware or autoparts stores.
maplin electronics sell most of what you listed there... but they are nearer the £1 mark more than the 1p mark... thats retail for ya...
Infuriatingly these are the sort of things that are expensive unless you buy a couple thousand (even Rapid's molex plugs are 50p a go iirc), there isn't really anywhere 'cheap', considering what they are : ( (For anyone wondering: Heatshrink + Braiding here, it works out at about 2 quid for 5 meters.... non-rohs stuff is always cheaper, if it's for personal use. Molex plugs: here, other types (fan headers etc) available in the next section up)

ah, if you just want some molex's, you could go to your local computer store, and ask it they have and dead psu's lying about. or see if they have an old system with a psu in it, and buy it from them for like, £5. that will get you some molex connectors, fan headers(might want a desoldering tool for this), and other random stuff.
for electronics: Rapid Electronics RS Online Farnell those are closer to the 1p mark that the £1 mark
mnpctech.com ~ sweet stuff they are pros
Thank you xXx! that made my day It also tells me all the hard work we do is paying off
Those are great suggestions/stores if you live in the good ol' US of A... but a less practical proposition for Fibre+, given that he's: 1. A UK resident. 2. Not wanting to spend a lot on what he needs. If he's unhappy paying £x for the bits he needs from UK stores... he's unlikely to be prepared to order stuff in from the USA - incurring S&H charges, plus HM Custom & Excise import taxes... on top of whatever the products cost
Try chilledpc.co.uk They have heatshrink and black braiding of different thickness by the metre. Postage is less than on Ebay but goes up with weight.
