ordering a gigabyte ga-ep45-ud3p, and it does not come with any bridges. where can I get them? Is it worth maybe upgrading to an x38 board? if so, the only one in my price range that is still available is the DFI DK X38-T2RB, and from what I have read, that board is picky about ram and has issues with C1 errors? thoughts anyone?
To be honest I think you should only Crossfire on an X48+ mobo since it doesn't cut the links between the PCIE cards in half to 8x 8x. But I guess its not that a big of a deal, what cards are you planning to Crossfire?
ebay must have loads of CF bridges floating around on it, make sure is the flexible type and long too ensure it'll reach between cards. I seem to remember somewhere that ATI was dropping the need for the CF bridge... i could be wrong...
two 4830's...gtx 280 performance for half the price...lol. I thought I read that as well, but some of those boards come with a bridge, so I assume it hasn't happened yet. unless of course the technology resides in the cards themselves...
Bridges usually come with the cards. Did yours not have any? If not, Burnout21 is on the right track - eBay has tons of them. - Diosjenin -
Also on the subject of not having to use them, that's only with the low end cards (the ones without the bridge connectors on the top of the cards).
thanks man, thats nice of ya. but im in the states. ok, that's what i was thinking. and these have the slots, so it must need them. now to the next question. do i need 2 of them to link just the two cards?
You only need one, I think the only cards that needed two were the (crazy) Asus EN7800GT DUAL and maybe the 9800GX2?
My mobo and vid card both came with multiple ones. Now I have 5 or 6 with nothing to use them for To bad youre way over there
