Listen to Nexxo... he's usually right about these things... annoyingly :)

However... Vancouver is very nice. I lived there for a while. Expensive, but if you live just outside (I was in Richmond) it's brilliant.

Yeah, those earthquakes have really livened the place up!

No. You do not want to move to New Zealand right now...

Dunno if you are willing to work for a living Christchurch has been basically flattened, if I had any building ability i'd be over there. Unfortunately pushing databases for a living isn't exactly required...

For the sake of balance its only Christchurch that has been hit the other major cities are still standing and most life in CHCH is running relatively smoothly.

Brought to you by the Kiwi ministry of I have to move over there in the next couple of years regardless of its tectonic stability... Wife is from CHCH.

Thank you for all the friendly advice everyone.
There exists the possibility that I don't remember starting this post last night.

I'll hand out rep when I get home from work.

And they have the most epic football team.

TBH, Ealing was affected by the riots, too.

Working as an electrician or a welder in western europe, you'd need a proper education. At least for electrician, this would mean a couple of years of either study or apprenticeship.

Flying however is a highly trained, and therefore very well paid profession.

New Zealand... Houses with no heating, no isolation and british plumbing. :D
You could make a fortune building proper houses. At least the german and dutch expats crave them.
