Does anyone know where I can get hold of a 6800 ultra? . I have looked everywhere and I cannot find it in stock anywhere. I need it quickly because I have just killed my current graphics card .
AFAIK they're not widely available yet. Check the news forum - new post there that says they'll be shipping in a month or so.
Why not get a radeon? They're available lots of places if you're in a rush. (And there's not much between them as far as I can tell)
Hi, post was posted on behalf of me. I looked on scan to begin with and no luck, lots of places display them but very few places have them. I origionaly wanted an ATI but I cant even find any places in the UK with the X800Pro in stock. I would wait till prices come down aswell but my other card just effectively melted so I need a replacement ASAP. Money is no object really since I've been saving for a long.......................time. Cheers
Well this is as much as i dare to post........ dab.com will have the first of the Gainward 6800's in the UK so maybe use that as a benchmark and i know we will have "some" closely behind them. Not sure how accurate this is but i heard the Cool FX version will hit first with the none watercooled Ultra a few day behind. I could be wrong though
Flames and insults are not tolerated, if you've got something useful to add to the thread, post it... if not, don't bother wasting everyone elses time. Oh, and what the hell are you doing on bit-tech to begin with??? bigz
I've read two different things about the 6800's. One article I read said it needs two molex plugs to get enough power, but the other said it only needs one. I'm rather confused. Does anyone know for sure if the 6800's require 1 or 2 molex? Since power=heat most of the time, this would affect my choice if I were to upgrade soon. ~Chrizzle
look at this. Hexus says it is possibly the fastest card on the planet. http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/review.php?dXJsX3Jldmlld19JRD03ODcmdXJsX3BhZ2U9MQ==
Fastest stock card on the planet, maybe...but the CoolFX isn't gonna beat people with voltmodded boards cooled by Prommys and LN2
