    Hello all,
Fresh meat just moved to London from Denmark, and with dawning horror I'm realising that I have NO clue where to buy my hardware from over here, so I really need a bit of advice as to what stores to go for (and which ones to avoid) in regard to selection, shipping speed, potential RMA service level, price etc.

I'm a lazy git and prefer to have my stuff shipped to my frontdoor, but should anyone have recommendations of "physical stores" then please let me know; also I'm a "DIY builder", so I'm not really that hooked on stores with "complete systemts only".

    Now,
The only store I know of and have experience with is Overclockers.co.uk - and so far have had only good experience with the lads, although I don't always find everything I need in their stock; but who else is out there worth dealing with?

    Also,
where do you go for cheap medias? Printer Ink refills? Audio/Video/Net cables etc?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Mox

Generally, you'll find a lot of love on these forums for Scan and CCL.

For the cheapy bits you'll never end up needing to RMA, ebuyer is fine. I just don't get on with their RMA process though, and a lot of people don't.

I personally do my shopping with Novatech, when the product is in stock anyway, as they have a showroom 20 minutes drive away. I like them for dealing face to face, but selling at internet prices.

I'm a Scan buyer, have been for many years. Remember you get free delivery once you get over 20 posts on Bit-Tech.

For a physical store in London, there is YoyoTech at 30 Windmill Street off Tottenham Court Road.

Misco is a good place to find those super budget buys. I have reason to believe you can't go wrong with 7DayShop for printer refills and that sort of thing.

I tend to use ebuyer. I've been through a few RMAs with them, and had no problems at all. They were actually much quicker than scan.co.uk

They are also doing free postage on any order atm :)

When it isnt in stock on ebuyer, i normally use scan or novatech. both are good.

I can second that, I've been using them for years for both personal and business use and they have been excellent.

Fast delivery, and hassle-free RMAs when I've needed to return something.

Ebuyer through and through, been using them for 7 years now and I've never been disappointed.

Aria used to be good but their service has gone down the pan, dispatch times are awful.

    One to avoid: Overclockers.co.uk

I don't buy a lot of hardware, but Dabs.com were very good to me with their RMA service. Expensive though.

Other than that, go with what other people have mentioned.

Ebuyer, Scan an Aria for hardware, Kustom PC's and Specialtech for modding bits (and sweets with Kustom).

OcUK can go out of business tomorrow and I wouldn't shed a tear... shocking customer service, criminal (almost literally) RMA's and they always buy huge volumes of newly released hardware and gouge thecrap out the prices for everybody.
