Someone i know has a 40gb 4g ipod with a faulty hard drive. he's recently bought a new ipod so i might buy the old dead one and stick a new hard drive in it. Question is where to find the drives? I know they are 1.8" Toshiba drives and the model should be MK4004GAH. I think a 60gb drive should fit aswell which would be MK6004GAH. Or I may put a 30gb drive in my 3g 15gb iPod, model should be MK3004GAL. Anyone any thoughts on where I can find one, i've managed to find very little so far. Thanks
ebay is your most likely friend otherwise google for the toshiba part #s and you'll find a plethora of useful results
yeah google throws up lots of results but no where that actually stocks the drives and has them for sale. Not in the uk at least. Only ones on ebay are in the US unfortunately. actually found loads on ebay now
