They probably won't sell on Ebay. I looked at a few websites and charities but mine aren't on their list of accepted toners, so I literally can't even give them away. Are they going to have to go in a landfill?
My local rubbish tip has a container for all toner and ink cartridges, regardless of type. If your tip doesn't have one, I'd just chuck them in the plastic recycling, since that's probably what happens to the rejected cartridges anyway.
Burn em....enjoy the billowing black soothy smoke. That said, over here any store that sells them needs to take the old ones back for "recycling".... means they get burnt at a higher temperature than normal rubbish
One large printer producer who also sells on the Scandinavian market does not have a recycling programme for toner because they claim that toner is completely safe for humans and the environment. They say it can be thrown away as normal waste. However, for ink, or toners that also include drums in the same cartridge, they are accepted for recycling due to ink and the drum component being of a more hazardous nature. The printer company usually has a list on their homepage that exactly specifies which toners they accept for recycling. If they are not on the list, the producer claim they are safe for the environment. Companies that use toner and do not want to throw them away as regular waste, are advised to find their own means to recycle the used toners. Especially companies with a particularly environmentally friendly profile would often contact my sister on customer support for information on recycling. Her response would also be as stated above.
Where are you based? Groundwork run WEEE recycling programs everywhere. We have targets to hit dammit!
