Didn't he get a new job somewhere or something? That was the last I heard anyway, he's probably been busy with that.

Yeah, he got a job a while back, IIRC he mentioned he probably wouldn't have much time to drop by and make us all feel stupid at guessing cars >.>

He got a pimp new job which means he's away from home during the week, then no doubt he's busy with family and stuff at weekends.

Knowing him he is probably on Mars, kicking ass on an alien base that was an outpost for the invasion of Earth. In between he has been cramming a 6ltr. V8 into his lawnmower, rescueing an orphanage from a disaster zone and spending some quality time at home making really nice pancakes. The ones he won a Michellin gourmet prize for last year.

What can I say? For John, being awesome is just a full-time job. :)

I'm still alive. I've been settling in to my new contract with Boeing in Kent, Washington. Pretty well firewalled out of the real world during the workday. I live in a pretty cool condo place that has free breakfast buffet in the morning and free evening buffet. And it rains everyday.

Typical trip back to Westminster is leave Kent at noon Fri. for the airport, fly to Denver and arrive at ~ 6:15 PM, taxi to home takes nearly an hour so I have from 8 PM Fri. until the taxi picks me up at 5:30 AM Sun. for an 8AM flight back to Kent. That is every other weekend.

Now I stay in Kent on alternating weekends. I am a real touristy kinda guy by nature. I put 30 miles on my rental car in 2 weeks. :jawdrop: Homebody.

Some pics of my condo are here:

It's nice to be missed. I'll try to bounce in more frequently from Kent. My Boeing laptop is severely encrypted and firewalled and makes surfing just a pain in the neck. Nothing is saved. My Pictures, My Documents, cookies, histories, everything gets wiped every time you shutdown. Keep your stuff on a CD or a thumbdrive and they are encrypted too. Did I mention it rains everyday, all day.

Great job, serious money, Boeing pays all out of town expenses and my salary goes home. WIN!!!

Freedom of choice = no money

except a little or a lot of constraints in your life and the wage gets higher and higher.

We all know why you're there, your single handily designing the next dream liner, on the back of a napkin, that can fly non stop around the globe at the speed of sound on one quart of fuel.

Awesome job, John. My father until recently worked at Airbus in Hamburg, fitting and testing the wiring on some of the A380's. There are severe delays and problems they're having with the delivery of these planes and a mass staff redundancy seemed to be the answer :( Bit crap really when you consider how much each of these planes cost. You'd think they'd take on more to get the planes completed to schedule.

You work on AWACS? That is insanely pimp; the kit in that 737 would give the entire forum's collection penis envy.

It is indeed an impressive aircraft. 2 Squadron in Australia is quite proud of it's abilities. The RAAF takes lots of opportunities to show it off. From a distance for most folks

MV strikes again! Where can I find this magical place that has free buffets? I could double my workload (don't take that anywhere buffet/bathroom related) if I didn't have to forage for food.
