I'm coming around to thinking benchmarks are pointless for the GTX 670 at the moment! I ran 3DMark11 on the Extreme (X) Preset and scored around 2880. Today I ran it and scored 3402 with a small bump on the memory! Something strange going on with the drivers me thinks! Here's the unbelievable screen capture for proof!
Let's see.. 1306 MHz boost clock on 1.175v on the Asus Geforce 670 DirectCU II TOP, not overclocked it further than what it came as btw. Loving how I don't notice any noise increase whatsoever when fan speed goes up when going from idle to gaming, at all.
this is what i dont get. Is boost values all to do with individual cards? I thought the TOP was supposed to boost to a pre determined amount I cant get 1306 stable even when i overclock it, and yours isn't even overclocked
@ Blogins 3402 seems about right, the other one a bit slow, perhaps your previous run had crashed? Are you guys upping your TDP for overclocks, it could be that the Salty is just a better chip and doesn't need it but you may need to. Still if you are getting 1250-1300 you are doing alright
yeah i put mine up to the max - 117% for me. I managed to get mine to about 1280 earlier today, that is the highest it will go. Again i needed to oc it to get there, i don't understand how some people's boosts there by itself
I was gonna get the 670 Direct CU II Top, but i couldnt wait. day after i bought the windforce, they become in stock (but for much more than the windforce). I'm happy with the windforce sofar though.
After further investigation, much like the reference GTX 670 the ASUS GTX 670 DC II also has VRAM based on the back of the card! Whilst the Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3x can boast full cooling from stock, aces!
It is very unlikely that the cards are boosting to 1300Mhz or so "out of the box". Some form of GPU offset and TDP increase will be required to push it that far. To give you a quick idea, these are the clocks available on the higher boosting of my two cards: Stock Base - 915Mhz Max Boost - 1124Mhz (max seen in games so far) "Overclocked" - 122% TDP and +180 offset Base - 915Mhz Max Boost - 1304Mhz (max seen in games so far) Each card will be different. My second 670 only boosts to 1284 at the same +180 offset.
Yeah I thought it had to have been oc'ed too.. no way was it bossting that high stock.. Well I am not going to lie, I am a bit dissapointed. I figured the TOP cards would go higher than the stock cards, or the standard DCUII, and by a significant amount at that - I felt I was buying something special y'no, but seemingly not *cries in corner*
Binned Gpu will come later on Way to early to be binning Gpus when your entire product range is sold out
Well, I'm a bit late to the party. But my rig arrived yesterday, so I'm kinda happy. Voltage goes up to 1.175. Card clocks to 1254. The rest is self explanatory. No GPU OC as of yet. Not sure I need any.
been playing with my recently arrived gigabyte windforce 670, best damn decision ever, doing 1311Mhz on boost, fully stable so far, temps peaked at 65C on load during the heatwave, at night its more like 50C on BF3 full ultra, based on this i think i can OC a little higher, some experimentation to follow
to be fair im not to sure why i need a even higher OC, already doing BF3 at max, hmm need to download those crysis 2 ultra high textures addon heard it makes it even more demanding than BF3 ultra, must look cool.
You won't have any problems with Crysis 2 - with the high res textures and DX11 patch and ultra settings you should still hit 60fps on a 670 at reference speed (at 1920x1080).
Anyone got their hands on a 4GB EVGA vanilla or SuperClock or Zotac? The 4GB SC blipped in stock for about 5min (I got an email from EVGA) and was sold out by the time I got to the site... and I'm scared of it given the issues people have had. It'd be good to see some 5760x1200 benches/ reviews. I really, really, want an ASUS DCII 4GB TOP... anyone heard rumors of any 4GB versions other than the EVGA or Zotac which are on the reference PCB with reference coolers?
I like the look of the ASUS card, But the Gainward Phantom is abit cheaper. What are the phantom coolers like?
