Well my dads been wanting a bike so in the spring we are picking out motorcycles to ride. He wants a 250cc honda rebel cuz he wont do highways on one. Me i want to do high ways but am 2 scared on 2 wheels so i was looking at used can-am spyders for a bike and are they any good?
if i am being totally honest grritsshawn - me personally would feel safer on 2 wheels. Although they have been designed with saftey elements otherwise it wouldnt be alllowed on the road its basically a quad bike front end and if your not carefull they can catch you out as my mates kfx700 has a few times. also it depends on you lisence and what your entitled to ride also what style you like as well.
Well i like the old bike style the cruisers and choppers and such but i want something that has 3 wheels because i would feel safer also would be getting a full body armour suit so i hope 600 bucks of riding gear will help. I was also looking at Three wheeled choppers which are bad ass looking haha
What part of being on two wheels scares you more than three? Start small and work up, it's all down to confidence.
i agree here i was always concerned about turning while on 2 wheels, its actually easier than turning a push bike and i find more satisfying than turning a car seeing as you lean rather than turning the bars - theres no better feeling than getting you knee down, and if you get good enough and confident enough you will be able to take some corners without holding onto the bars - i used to
Well i mean the only part about that is i will be using the bike to go to north carolina and PA to look for schools when i get it and it will b my daily unless im going shopping so i rather have something that i can relax and just gave u turn handle bars and stuff. But i means its almost winter wont be getting it till April or May the latest so i got time to think it over
It's better to fall to the ground than to be thrown in a high arch, THEN hitting the ground. I have never driven a 3 wheeler, but from what I have heard they neatly combine the disadvantages of a bike with the disadvantages of a car.
i used to ride my bikes in all weather you cant beat it for the freedom factor also i agree with Smilodon about the coming off IMO its better to come off a bike than a trike - obviously its better not coming off at all but sometimes it just happens. if you not bothered about speed as in a bike like the yamaha R1 or a honda fireblade or black bird, what about a V-Twin cruiser like the suzuki maraurder or intruder
...the can-am's are a LOT more powerfull than a 250cc rebel. They've got the same engine Aprilia used in the Mille-Falco-Futura. Plus you'll look like a douchebag, get a car if you're scared, trikes combine the worst of both worlds.
well the trike chopper i was looking at has 1 front wheel and 2 back, the cam-am i think is almost 1000cc haha and i think imma go balls to the walls and just get a shadow 750cc haha
250s are pretty safe, and I think they can do highway speeds alright. They're harder to crash than trikes, I know that - trikes are very easy to crash because they're a bit counter-intuitive and the handling is odd, whereas bikes you can sort of 'feel' your way around (cornering, as said previously, feels very natural and is hard to get wrong). Try a bike out for a while before writing it off as an option. Try a trike and a quad, too, for that matter. The latter two scare me because of their bizarre handling properties. I don't want to sit that far on top of something that can't lean into a corner.
You want a nice little Piaggio MP3 you do Yes, the can am has 1000 cc (well, 99something) it's the Rotax engine from the Aprilia Mille. Rotax was bought by Bombardier, which again owns Can Am . Just to explain how this über-snowmobile on wheels came to be.
