So I'm just about to install my new mobo and cpu into my case and pass my old board and cpu down the line to my daughter.

I have the option of continuing to use my Scythe Mugen 2 or reclaim my Titan Fenrir back from the wifes pc and she can have either my mugen or my daughters freezer pro.

So which should I use the mugen 2 or the fenrir or is there not much between them.

i have a noctua nh-d14 now. def the best air cooler imo.

    I'd pick the Titan.

The TT frio seems to be a popular choice at the mo.

I'd rather not buy another cooler at the moment as I'm tapped out.

Just checked the boxes and they dont state compatibility with LGA 1155, is the mounting system different to lga 1366, sorry first Intel build for me.

It's different than socket 1336, yes. But it will still work as socket 1156 and 1155 both use the same mounting holes. :)

Is there much point as he has a titan already? It's no slouch. Only a few degrees in the difference.

I read that very quickly and took it as buying, in that case I'd got for the Titan. It was the best around for a long time.

Looks like my only choice now is to buy (or blag :) ) the bracket needed so I can use the fenrir.

There is a bracket for the mugen 2 but no one sells it anymore.

Anyone know if the fenrir fits the sabertooth without fouling etc?

Using the stock cooler for the moment as a stop gap, cpu is 55c idle in the bios that's not right surely?

I know the stock coolers aren't great but I'm concerned to even start installing windows with idle temps like that.

Also I thought I should be able to use the mouse in the EFI but it doesn't seem to work!!

Temperatures in bios are allways higher. I also get 55ºc in bios but it gets down to 33ºc idle in windows. I think my cpu reached 70ºc under heavy stress with prime... Of course i'm still using the stock cooler.
