Only problem with that is it would cost you more that 10 pounds to ship all your money home! It would be kind of fun to come through the airport with a suitcase full of zimbabweian money and then explain that the whole case is only worth ten bucks :D

I think if I actually had any money to invest (which i don't) it would go into euros and metals other than gold. The USD is headed in the same direction as the Zimbabwien currency these days. I think gold has too much speculation to be a good investment, but things that actually get used (copper, Aluminum, zirconium, etc) are going to just appreciate in valie as the Chineese hoover up more and more to produce crap to sell at Walmart.

Money depreciates. $1 doesn't buy what it used to, next to nothing these days, and $1 will buy even less in the future, and the same for any currency out there. I don't save in any currency for this reason.

 I will stop saving and Buy some thing.

The problem if you buy a car or some thing THE price DROP next year. That's make you lose your mind.

Exacly CK - 1 gold block didn't cost that much before - the gold has gone up, but the money has gone down. Yes you can make money buy trading currencies but that's too much effort for me. The only cars that appreciate are mainly the popular but rare models, there are exceptions but i don't invest in cars. I like dirt, like most kids, i liked it from a young age, and i haven't stopped playing with it and i still bring home as much dirt as i can, so to speak ;) It's good to trust your instincts sometimes.

That's why we have something like interest. As long as the interest on your savings is higher than the deflation on the currency, you're quids in. If you're looking at compound interest, things look even better.

Some things will always be in demand, and hence are good investments: residential property, for instance, although location is key in this.

As the dirham has been pegged tightly to the dollar for the last 20 years that seems a bit pointless.

Compounding interest is nice, but so is a na 2 litre 4cyl. If you want to have something that not only compounds/appreciates it's value & return, but also booms like a turbo 2lt when it hits band, then you're gonna want something better :D

The value of the dirt in any location, particularly the desired ones, is amplified by the increasing population, so get off the computer and get back to breeding your brains out ppl :naughty: If the population stops increasing i'll have to stop playing with dirt & start mucking around with other more time consuming stuff :grr:

mvagusta LOL what is your story with the dirt??!!?

DXR_13KE The Dollar is coming up, Are you kidding me now?

cpemma Dirhams <-> Dollar, They stick tougher if the dollar go up or down, you exchange with the same rate 3.65 . So nothing happen to the dirhams if the dollar go up or down, we don't feel it.

so yeah it sounds the best currency to trade to here in UAE. But I think Euro is better.
