I am trying to decide which design to use for my homepage:

    Or This
    [IMG]

And if anyone would like anything made for them just tell me because we are trying to put our designs out their.
    Thanks for your input.

Well.. I like the top one, but what's your homepage about? WHat theme you trying to set? What mood?

Based purely on what image I like best, then it's the top one.

The homepage is about 3dmax and Bryce, I am trying to set a relaxing mood but both the pictures are relaxing and i dont know which one to choose.

Ok.. in that case the second. The first, while appearing tranquill at first glance, is actually quite angry, and passionate. The fiery, turbulent sky, the sea almost looking like blood.... there's a whole raft of semiotic reasons I'd opt for the second image.

second one, abit like pookey said

to me the top one although a 'calm' scene the picture it quite intense and quite powerfull with the use of colours..

where as the second one looks peacefull, white blocks, line, and calm waters with a boat which looks to be gentally swaying if at all setting a cleaner less err 'busy' scene.

forgot to mention second one has calm, neutral colours which don't hit you smack in the face :D

If going for a relaxed mood then definitely the second one, the first is too red which epitomises anger or rage.

Perhaps cool off the first one? It's a little "hot" and angry.

I don't really like the 2nd one as much. Though the colors are much more relaxing, the whole window thing makes you feel sort of "trapped", as if you're isolated from the tranquility outside.

Go for pic 1, with some color adjustments (Rerender or Photoshop?).

That's my artsy fartsy BS for the day.

I'd go for #2. I don't know much about 3DsMax or Bryce, but I do know a bit about webdesign and such. If you use #1, text will be quite difficult to read. The black/orange background creates too much contrast to be able to use one text color. Besides that, black with a light bunch of text over it reads harder than a light background with a dark text color over it.

I'm not a big fan of the window. Less red and more blue in the 1st pic and it look great. :)
