i'm currently in the middle of modding a mini-itx into a NEs and to wire up the controllers to the parallel port i need some diodes.

i've been on maplin and there are different types such as switching diodes and rectifier diodes?

which one would be the best to use in this case. does it really matter?

Thanks for the replies guys, but it seems as if there is also the required diodes on a small PCB on the NES's controller socket so theres no need for me to buy any

    Thanks anyway chaps :)

It's not critical at the current and voltage involved; 1N4148 is one to go for -- small size, fast, cheap, and sold everywhere.
