I'm currently running win XP on my server, after having given up on using SuSE (for some reason i couldn't get it to work as a router, no matter what i did), and although i've had absolutely no problems with it, i want to go back to something unix based anyway. So which distro/os would you suggest? I was planning on using slackware, but then i saw that tsl was actually designed purely for servers, although it looked rather complicated and unfriendly!

Try IPCOP- its free, easy to setup and I've never had any problems with it.

FreeBSD-4.8, Slackware. Gentoo is on my list of things to try. I didn't get on well with debian at all, ugh...

    fBSD/Slack = :D

I'm now using TSL, it installed far more easily than i expected (couldn't get slack to install at all!) and seems to be working pretty well.
