Was thinking of going sli at some point. I already have a gentle typoon 1850rpm fan as my side intake, just wondering what you guys think is a better performer for said purpose, and if it's worth replacing what I already have for the silverstone ap?

GT is good for static pressure. I use two on my NH-D14 cooler. However for intake/exhaust, APs win (I use 3 on my case).

As for noise, which is quieter? I find the GT already relatively noisy, is the AP any louder or the same??

I'd say they're about the same. For a side intake I would go with the Typhoon, as it's got more static pressure and you don't need the cylindrical tunnel effect of the Air Penetrator, as the air doesn't have very far to go.

I have both on my watercooled rig and tbh, i find them both annoyingly noisy. I plan to change the lot. I think they're about the same, so seeing as you already have a GT, you may as well stick with that.

If you want to shift some air but have lots of noise. Get yourself some 120mm Deltas. They shift air but are mega loud.

But when strapped to my heat sink a single fan dropped my load temps :)

Yeah I don't want to increase the noise levels at all tbh. I mean, I can hear the fans I have in my case with headphones over my ears (nothing playing but still). The sad part is that the only fan that's noisy is the side intake one, just because of where it's positioned. The other GT's in my base I can hardly hear. It's fan in particular isn't faulty, I've even added rubber grommets on the fan screws to give some clearance from the side panel metal, and reduce any sound vibration, for the fan in question, to not much effect. Ho hum eh.

It doesn't bother me, I have speakers on my desk and my system is on the floor next to me. I do turn it down when just watching something streamed etc.

Though with the Delta strapped to my HS I can't do that with that fan anymore. I might pic up a GT and strap that to it instead. Reduce the noise xD

Yeah I don't use speakers. I use headphones for the simple reason that I'm usually up till 3 to 4 am.

No doors on my house (other priorities). 3 story building (ground floor is the kitchen, first is parents, third is me and my sister), she works, I'm unemployed. I make enough noise as it is without using speakers, so yeah.

Ahh i see sucks dude. Can't even scratch your backside in piece. Anyways off topic. I haven't used either fan. Its simply down to budget and a leap of faith.
