    Hey Hey,

I've been using trillian to conect (solely) to msn for a few years now, but recently I've been getting winsock 10054 errors so it's time for a change. I'm not really sure what to change to though. I want a client that's skinnable to be dark (both message windows and friends list) because I hate bright white software at night, and not having adverts flashing at me a la the official client is preferable also.

So what should I pick? I've heard of Pidgin and Miranda, but I have a feeling there are a few more options out there.

    Cheers all.

I'd look into aMSN. I use it under Linux, but it also has a Windows port.

I was going to say gaim (used to use it years ago) but now it's called Pidgin, might be worth a shot though, gaim was pretty good IMO :)

I'm also looking for a good alternative to Trillian/MSN.
Really only use MSN, so I don't need it to support any other protocols.

Been using aMSN for a while, but it just feels too clunky.
Trying out miranda at the moment, quite like the lightweight feel of it.
Sort of miss the ability to do voice chat/webcam though.
