which intel mb?

    abit ic7 mb is this actually any good and will it support prescott cpu's + wot memory will go good with it?

    Asus P4P800 Deluxe Intel 865P and the same question's for this 1 as well please

    iam getting a prescott 2.8 so need a good board as well as ram

    they are both very good boards, if you are doing high fsb overclocking the asus would be better, but as you are getting a prescott you wont be :(

    i have a P4P800 and it will support prescott cpus, not sure about the abit, it should

    i would be more inclined to say go for the asus seeing that i have one and it has ran like butter for me ever since i got it

    as for ram, definitely dont do any skimping on the quality

    i would go for some good low latency PC3500, 2x265 or 2x512
    corsair and mushkin are the daddies of high performance ram

    i say PC3500 because that gives you a bit of room to overclock, you wont need much faster since the prescotts dont like overclocking as much as northwoods (you would probably be able to run it at 3GHz with that ram, if the ship will run it)

    if you wont be overclocking then get some low latency PC3200, again 2 identical sticks

    either board, its down to preference tbh. The ic7-max3 does support the prescott. It has good cooling on the mosfets on the board, but if you intend to build a silent system then I would recomend the asus.
