Yo dudes, i'm going to be buying a Toyota MR2 SW20 (mkII) but i'm trying to decide which revision of the model to get.

I want to get the T-Top. But i also wanna get the turbo version that's an import... but that adds to the insurance quite a lot just because it's an import. If i declare i've done a turbo mod to a n/a model it's still cheaper (by a large margin) than having the imported Turbo model.

Any ideas? Any specialist insurance companies that will insure me cheaply on an Import?

Also i know there are various revision changes anyone know the age group that had the more powerful engine and was slightly heavier?

I had one done once, when looking to buy a Delta Integrale privately. The examiner's exact words were "It's a dog", so it saved me some money. The guy selling wasn't too happy as it was his pride and joy, so he ended up taking his garage to court.

September '94 was the introduction of the M reg.

Another reason to buy from an owners club member - you can search the history of the car, and you'll know if they are enthusiasts instead of some nob who's thrashed it from cold every day and couldn't afford to maintain it properly so is getting rid

3S engine is still very quick without the turbine. All the turbine really adds is torque to make up for some slightly wide gears. Otherwise, high-compression 3S engines can pull just as hard as the GTE engine, but with added benefit of sensational pedal response.

Bear in mind that Adrian Flux are supposedly very poor when it comes to claiming. I've heard lots of bad stories about them in the last 6 months or so, so I'll be leaving them this renewal. Join an owners club and you'll get all of the info you'll ever need, insurance discounts etc..

If you'd posted this a year ago my dad was selling his P reg n/a t-bar, it was in really good condition except for the slipping clutch :/

I think you'll be hard pressed to find a car that hasn't at least spun off the road once XD

I can agree with that it's oversteer king!

So the 3rd Revision = 3S whats the HP lb/ft on that engine?

Also i've noticed some mr2's have a split air intake (well most of them) but some i've seen with no split in the air intake, is this a model difference? or is it something as a mod?
