well actually yea i can play open real tape but i dunno if the player works got it from a friends dad when he passed away it looks like its in MINT condition i should try it out 1 day
You'd be surprised how good it is. Most of the people I know who have open reel tape say it's awesome, definetly better than anything digital.
It's stereo, no idea how much fits on the tape. The only format that can compete with open reel is vinyl.

set-up Hi. I have a set-up of all Audiolab gear, not the revamped, but original from Cambridge systems,it consists of the 8000mx x 2,q,cdm,dax,ppa,and an 8000T (which I dont use),cos I have a DAB tuner. They are all "F" serial numbers, which was the last year the true Audiolab was manufactured.I wouldnt have anything else, its brill,Speakers are B&W CDM1,turntable is a Michell Focus/SME 3009 arm,and I use an old faithful Goldring GL75 for my 78 records.the interconnects are all Nordost,Red Dawn for the DAX and pre-power amps, the rest are Solar Wind, digital are SAilver Shadow/Moonglo.I love my stereo, not a believer in fancy tweaks, but I do like a set-up I can live with,I also have a Sony dat recorder which came out of the old Roundhouse studios in London, and these were used by the BBC. I would be interested to hear what other people have, and no snobbery, after all ,its the ears that tell us the truth, not the image............Hapy listening.
I have recently purchased a Fatman iTube Valve amplifier and iPod dock along with a pair of Monitor Audio RS1's on Acatama stands. For being an iPod based system it sounds like proper 'Hi-Fi'. For AV i have a Pannasonic PX70 42" plasma, Philips DVDR (to be replaced), Denon 1905 reciever and a set of Mordaunt Short Genie 5.1 speakers.
Back in the day I used to use an old Cambridge amp, hooked up to a pair of Celestion floor standing speakers. Was great for music. A few years ago, I picked up a set of Altec Lansing speakers off eBay (not sure of the model number). They're great speakers, but have no volume control & they've got the Dell logo plastered on them... The sub is about the same size as an ATX case!
in Turin i've a logitech z-10 system, it's great, imho... in Varese i've an old hi-fi: amp: onkio model 725 with older Italvideo speakers...
