I'm not keen on P6000's, great tire in the dry but a bit of a ditchfinder in the wet.

Goodyear EAGLE F1's aren't bad but wear a bit fast imho.

I have Toyo PROXES T1-R's and they have seen me pretty well tbh.

I can't help but think is it really worth £240 for new boots for a 1.2?

My mate gets 195/something R15 eagle f1's for around £50 each.

And yeah they're worth it for the stopping and turning ability.

GSD3 is the latest, I run GSD2 as theyre the only ones they do in a size that fits my wheels.

Eagle F1s are great but they are going to cost you a bit more. If you can spare the extra then go for it but I'm not sure how noticable the difference would be on your car, I'm guessing not a great deal. It is your money :) Stay away from Toyos if you want hard wearing tyres.

I completely disagree with the "small engine doesnt need good tyres" mentality. If someone in an 'underpowered' car wants to go somewhere fast they have to carry speed through turns etc.. rather a more powerful car which can speed up at will, so I'd actually say there's more of a need for decent tyres.

No one recommended any tyres that aren't good.

i have eagle f1's on my golf, i believe the tyres are 16x8 so they are pretty wide.

grip is phenomonal even in the wet, also had 2 nails in one tyre and it didnt even go flat (even slightly) only noticed when i changed the suspension... mr kwik fit sorted the tyre tho :)

edit: if yor going to spend 240 on tyres youd get better hadling by going for new wider alloys, you can pick em up off ebay usually with decent tyres with 4mm tread left for just shy of 200 quid. and you could sell your old rims and tyres and make alot of the money back...
