Well I explained mine on page1, but what feature you dont' get, and I'll try to explain it the best I can. As I am working on Win7 Tweak UI tool with original and useful features that also makes people life easier, I know a lot about Win7.

Well the Wiki explains most of it, although I have no idea what 'Presentation Mode' is...

    Ah, presentation mode, is this:

This way, when you do a presentation your screen won't turn off on you, the screen saver won't kick in, you won't get pop-ups about updates and such, and have the speaker volume set a level which is remembered every time.

I can access it via mobility center, I don't know if desktops have this, probably yes.

I've just ordered Home premium from Play.com.

I presume I will have the option of 64bit with premium as well?

As for the 16gb issue, we aren't even using 4gb yet for game as far as I know so how far away will it be for more than 16gb to be used.

If I do need to upgrade to Pro at some stage Home premium will just get passed down to one of my kids system.

How many installs do you get with the retail version of professional or home premium?

Anyone know what Microsoft means by "To be eligible for the offer, you need to be running a genuine copy of the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating systems."? It's in the FAQ section under "How do I know if I am eligible for this offer?".

As far as I know the pre-order versions are full versions, which don't require an upgrade check.

Indeedy, i'm about to pull the trigger, but I don't have a copy of a recent Windows to upgrade from if it requires it, and I can't get anything useful out of the microsoft site :wallbash:

Well, I do have a valid version of XP. I just can't grasp how they intend to enforce that eligibility check.

It says quite explicitly in the FAQ that you're only eligible for this upgrade pricing if you have XP / Vista, however it also quite clearly states that you will perform a clean install on this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/windows7/help/installing-e

Once Windows is activated with a valid key, it considers itself a genuine OS. I bet Microsoft won't really care as long as they make some money out of it, instead of people just pirating it, and if there is an upgrade check, I'm sure someone on the intarwebs will find a fix for it.

If they sold it regularly for £50 they wouldn't have a noticeable piracy issue anyway IMO.

Ordered Pro version from Amazon for £89 - Ebuyer had this for £80 but were sold out. Must have been a small number of copies at that price

It does say you need Xp or Vista to be eligible for this offer but I think this is referring to the upgrade version available outside the eu, I believe the E Versions are full versions and therefore the eligibilty isn't an issue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

The pricing for Windows 7 is just crazy imo: 310€ for Professional. :wallbash:

Didn't get a preorder for the reduced price today. Amazon lagged on me. :(

EDIT: If I would buy Professional, on how many rigs could I install it? On my laptop + 2 computers?
