I just pre-ordered two copies of Home Premium and one of Professional. One of the HP copies will go to family, and the other two are destined for my laptop and desktop respectively.

You supposedly get both a 32bit and a 64bit disc.

Ultimate was never there for sale in the first ...

Suprised that they've sold out of home premium already though... So it really was a limited deal.... I wonder if they are just releasing the stock in blocks...

Starting to make up my mind now , I'll probably cancel my home premium pre-order and just get pro.

I think Amazon had put Ultimate for pre-order but it wasn't at a reduced price could be wrong though. 200+ quid is insane for like 2 more features which don't affect performance.

Microsoft did not put a special on Ultimate edition Upgrade. In reality it's only 20$ US difference between the Pro and Ultimate.

I wanted to buy W7 HP E from Amazon. Out of Stock! How can something which you can duplicate loads of time go out of stock... Out of stock in less than 1 day...

    I got mine from Play.

    What is this W7... E thing. What is E? E=Europe? E=no explorer? "E=Ediot":p?

I hate the EU for not including a web browser as standard. This is the most stupidest reason not to include a web browser in a product...

    'E' for 'Eviscerated'. :hehe:

Although I think it's supposed to be 'Europe' edition or something. ;)

If I'm not mistaken you can install one copy on 6 machines. Correct if I'm wrong

    Oh nonononono!
    - 1 product key per computer. You are confusing XP retail, where you can install it 6 times before Activation will fail and you need to call Microsoft, once it ended every 3 months a 1 time activation will appear.

    - If you install Vista/Win7 on a second computer, the first computer will loose the activation soon after it access the net, and would need to be activated (so you will need to switch like that).

There will be Family package in North America (I don't know about other places), where you can buy 3 copies of Home Premium and save... but I don't think you will save over the current offer. At worst it should be come to the same price as the current special now (ie: 3X 50$)
