Just wanted to know, is the fan intake or exhaust? I'm talking about graphics cards like these:

Just wondering how to design the airflow in my new build, thanks

On the 5770 and the Asus 285 the fans draw air in and exhaust to rear of the card. Im not sure on that palit card though.

The palit looks like it might be an internal thing, just blowing air up onto the card and into the case. What always confused me is that every shot you see of a card is upside-down, showing the cooling system from below...

because the backside is just a PCB, nothing special. so they show the part they've put on pretty graphics.

card 1 and 2 are exhaust, just make sure you feed enough air into its fans.

For the Palit one (first one) and ASUS one (second), the fresh air comes in the fan where it's closer to the frontal intake case fan, and comes out the hot air where the whole on the PCI-E bracket (where the monitor plug are) air holes The prevents the hot air from going to other components (as it's very hot (for a computer) when you play a demanding game or processing with the GPU).

The last one (the one with the 2 fans), just move around the air in the case by warming it. Fresh air comes in, and comes out on the side, staying in the computer case, for the case fan to manage it.

I am not too convinced by the dual fan one.. its might be quieter because of the 2 fans.. but I think it just delays the inevitable (making a lot of sound as it tries to cool it self up), and in make everything else in your computer hotter. But, I am just assuming here as I hot such card before.
