    Hi all,

My friend is building a new gaming rig, and I'm totally out of the loop on AMD. He has the CPU on its way, and wants to get a x570 board. His budget is approx £270 but of course if theres no need to spend that much, then great!

Any recommendations for solid good performing quality boards?

He will be using an m.2 SSD, 2x sticks of DDR4 and might do some mild overclocking but nothing extreme.

    (re-using his existing ATX case)

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

I literally just did a build with the above motherboard this week and can recommend it as very very good for the money.

Yeah, get something with some sort of USB bios flashing utility, will save you the headaches down the line.

I remember in the old days I bricked my motherboard (DFI, so that dates it) twice trying to flash the BIOS to fix the Phenom TLB issue. Had to buy a replacement chip (fortunately it was removable) from a guy online.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. We did a lot more research, and opted for a B550 to save some money. The missing features just werent really important to him so it was a good way to save some cash.

This has a terrible VRM for the money. Its gets really slated in reviews. I'm sure it would be fine for a 6/8 core but it's nice to keep upgrade options open 12/16 cores push this board a bit too hard.
