Just found out the Inno3D doesn't have OC options in the slider and the gimmick'y plastic fest hs and extra fan are nonsense and when removed actualled made cooling better on a 3070! so yeah it's between the zotac's and palit now... Also since posting this thread the Inno3D wen't up £18 and it's now £48 more than last week
Can't say I've noticed any whine on my Zotac. I did have to replace one fan that started to rattle a little but it's a 1080 mini so it's not exactly youthful. Very limited info for you there.
No worries mate haha! I've just found out that the Zotac offers a 5 year warrant so despite these all being brands I'd never normally use/heard of I think I'll go with that considering name brands like Gigabyte offer 3 year warranty and I've heard of issues with them... I can't justify another £50-100 for a name brand if the warranty is less than half a cheap card...
I've also got limited info, but it does come from (again older model) experience and contradicts your own findings, so may not be of any use either! I had a Palit GTX460 that promptly died after I lent it to a mate - no idea whether this was the card itself or the conditions he kept it in though (open bench machine, but he wasn't known for cleaning or dusting his house or even smoking outside). Older kit admittedly (older than adidan's!), but then in comparison the Sapphire HD5670 I subsequently gave him as an emergency stand-in still seems to be fine in the same conditions, as are a pair of Asus 670s I've put in the little 'un's machine and an MSI 560Ti that was fine last time I powered it up. All mentioned for brand comparison only. I do also currently have two AIO Inno 3Ds running (980 Tis) that (touch wood) seem to be ticking along happily and have been doing so for a while now. The only issue I had with these was that you couldn't easily replace the fans that came with the rads for anything better/different colour, but that didn't bother me too much. That's all probably no help whatsoever, but it's based off real-world, at least.
Nah that's sound honestly mate I appreciate any experiences with the brands. I think the 5 year warranty vs price is very tempting with the Zotac despite me usually wanting Asus etc... But I'm not paying £100+ for that and less than half the warranty Zotac offers?
I'm with you on that one - five years is five years and you may even be looking to upgrade again by then anyway. Zotac have been around long enough (although that doesn't give any guarantee of the future these days) and if it does break, that's what the warranty is for! I forgot to add as I was focusing on GPUs, that I have had problems with other Asus stuff in the past (laptops, motherboards) and their customer service was appalling, so personally I would avoid Asus if I had an alternative choice.
Yeah man that's what I'm thinking and I have shockingly bad luck so yeah screw the scene tax/less warranty wallet killers lol! Ah that's a shame I used to love them and corsair! But we are going WAYYYY back haha! Cars have since ruled my life for 13 years (and by life I mean my wallet!)
Used both Palit (RTX2060) and Zotac (GTX260, GTX970) in the past in friends builds and never had one fail. Currently running an Inno3D (RTX3060) previously used for mining and ran for 4 months for F@H and gaming when I received it. It was a replacement for a second hand Gigabyte (GTX960), again been used for folding for a couple of years after receiving. Gigabyte (GTX460) had one failure and Sapphire (HD4870 and RX480) had three failures. Original 4870 and the replacement card both failed in the space of a year, third 4870 lasted for years after.
just found out that Zotac have UK service centre https://www.zotac.com/gb/support/contact-us so I'm fully sold now with the 5 year warranty
