lucky for me I haven't killed a comp yet, but I've taken out a keyboard with stupidity before Back in college I once set a cup full of inkwash on a shelf above my desk (I was an art student. for those that don't know that's just India Ink + water). This shelf was of course right above my monitor/keyboard. I have no clue at all why I set the cup there of all places, but of course you can see where this is going. Cordless phone is also on this shelf....it rings..... I reach for it..... cup of inkwash goes flying. Lucky it missed all those lovely air vents on top of the monitor, but it drenched the keyboard. Needless to say the keyboard acted a bit funny after that. As well as taking on a nice new gray tint.
I had a lucky escape with the pint of squash sitting next to my lurvely cherry keyboard, i managed to hit the underside of the table when i sat up and the squash was everywhere except the keyboard I might consider myself well lucky
I always wanted to do a Peltier-based drink holder - run the polarity one way for soda, the other for coffee - but I never got around to it. Just one more idea to kick around :--) Gordon
