Personally I love them and one will be my first car and I would love ot top look like this! This image is robbed and congratualtions to the owners it's a great looking car!
You have great taste in rides! Will you get one that's ready to go or a fixer-upper? I would love to have a classic Mini, but I don't have the space, time or cash to work on one any more. I have a 2008 Cooper (US of course). Best I can do for now, but it does have lots of airbags and safety features to make it a bit safer for all those damn SUVs on the roads now. There's a couple photos of mine in my album.
I think it would be fun to get one and pimp it up but being a relatively tall guy i would'nt enjoy driving it very much
I will get one for about a £1000 or about $999999999999999999999999 I think. Then spend money on it monthly doing it up gradually.
Oh! i always assumed they would be a tight squeeze I know a mate who got one cheap he kept it in his garage and done it up over the year then sold it for a nice profit Some people just like doing them up rather than anything else
My dad used to restore them and tune the engine, I'd love to get one to work on. No matter how my taste in cars changes I will always want one
When I turn 18 I'll be doing one up. I know quite a few people who have, they're just great little things!
the old minis are awesome vehicles. the newer ones have developed too much of a yuppy/better-than-thou attitude IMO (no offense to new mini owners that dont fit that category )
Here's a couple of nice classic Minis with my 2008 sitting in the background. I really wouldn't mind either one of those classics in my garage!
My dad has a JCW although it's badged as an S (despite having the full kit fitted by Mini). IIRC according to the dealer it's one of the cars that mini gaves to their employees.
not a fan to be honest. while they WERE a good car they are nothing more than death traps on wheels now with stupidly high insurance because they are popular and easy to steal.
I currently in the process of acquiring an old and beaten Mini Cooper 970 S (1964 model), sadly it'll be locked up in a garage with no engine for a good few months though as I don't have a license to drive cars and will need to build up some further funds before proceeding with refurbishing and making it road-worthy. The crazy guy I'm buying off let the poor thing get used in a banger racing weekend so cosmetically it's... well in complete shambles. On the bright side it means I'm getting it extremely cheap, on the downside I have a lot of work to do.
I wanted an old Mini for ages. If I was to get one in really bad condition, I'd probably do a VTEC conversion. I really don't like the new Mini. They are not mini at all really, are they? Not only that, but nearly everyone I've ever seen driving one (and I see a lot, working in a drive-thru) is a bit stuck up themselves.
