There has been a lot of controversy over the iPod Touch and if it has Bluetooth or not…
I have looked at tair downs and tons of blogs only to come to a conclusion, know one knows besides Apple…:duh:
So I want to hear what everyone on Bit-tech thinks and see if ant one can find some good links that might clarify the subject…:thumb:
And just for some added fun I would like to know if anyone has found good mods for Apple's newest iPod...:dremel:

Are you sure? ;) It might not be enabled in software but the hardware might be there. :p

Well granted I couldn't say there is no bluetooth inside the unit at all.

I can't however see a reason for it having bluetooth.

The jury is still out on the presence of bluetooth in the touch.

Check out engadget and tauw for more info on the touch there's a fair few people opening them up and checking out the chips

Or bluetooth data transfer from a macbook - no need to plug the touch in, sync it wirelessly!

A few websites have taken them apart but no-one has confirmed whether it has it or not.

There aren't any chips that they can determine have a bluetooth logo, and there's been no FCC filings.

In the tair down of the iPod Touch that I looked at there was no answer of the exsistance of Bluetooth :wallbash: But the person did note that alot of companies are doing all-in-one chips now. That mean Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and even radio if you want it could be in a single small chip. There for until Apple gives up the full specs we will never know for sure...
There is still hope though, you can't prove that there is Bluetooth but you also can't say there isn't any...
Apple might just be playing dumb like when they dropped the iPhone's price so soon to its release, there was no obvious reason to have the high price other then to make a quick buck. Maybe the iPod touch does have Bluetooth and Apple will annouce a newer iPod Touch with it even though it is only a software unlock...
The best way to find out would be to find some leaked info from inside Apple itself...

People have ripped it open. It's not there. There's some software still lingering from the iPhone that hints at it, but the hardware most definitely isn't there.

Wouldn't make any since anyways, since it would take forever to sync and kill your batteries. You need to plug in to charge and you need to be near your comp to sync. And it wouldn't make sense for headphones imho, since then you'd need some bulky monstrosities that can't be self-powered by the headphone jack but need additional batteries. Very un-Apple-like.

Actually that's wrong, no-where thats taken it apart has confirmed that it doesnt have it, they all said they cannot tell because it could be built into the wi-fi chip.

I doubt it, they don't really have any reason to incorporate Bluetooth if the thing won't use it.

Not what I've read, but even if that is the case, all of the other evidence points to it NOT being there.
