I've done a lot of 3D modelling work over the years making games for various platforms but I don't know anything about counter strike tools - has anybody got any experience with whatever the sdk is and wants to help out? I'll have a crack at putting the model together if somebody wants to handle the specs (eg how many polys I should be using, available texture space etc) and spawn points/testing and so forth.

    Cheers,

I have no experience worth speaking of on that front I'm afraid.
What do you have in mind? Size, setting, layout, play style?

I've made half a map once that was pretty detailed structurally but failed on textures (it was my college I re-created into a cs_ map) there was loads of tutorials on how to use hammer editor when I was messing with it, if u give me some ideas I could make some areas of a map, if others help we could make it a team effort! :)

modeling isnt really your problem there are hundreds of standard models that do the job its finding an idea for the map then creating it and making sure that its not one-sided like quite a few are

Get some blueprints on the BT-CPC office and make that into a map. Could be fun :)

If we could get the blueprints of the actual CPC offices and make it a hossie map that would be cool :)

    I will help :)

Little known fact, I worked with the guy who made de_torn for CS1.4. Spent ages beta testing the map. It wasn't a huge favourite but it got him some work in the states developing games :)

Just had the same conversation with Caveman about maps.

a de/cs_mapname_cpc would go down great.

Also, as we're on the subject - perhaps modding some existing maps would be beneficial. Like making them slightly more balanced. Like Dust for example.

de_dust_extended is a good example. Any ideas guys?
