Well you don't often see IDS in the same postcode as "credibility" or "competence" unless there's some sort of negative qualifier in there :D

You have to bear in mind that this populist stuff is pretty antithetical to the instinctive views of the "Thatcherite" right for which snuggling up to Putin and ditching any remaining effort at free-market policies is a bit much. Furthermore a lot will just be furious with him for repeatedly forming parties to their right and losing them seats.

Quite a few in the Tory party doing it, desperately trying to tow the line of ''it wasnt MY fault, it was everyone elses fault, so please pick me for leader so i can further my career'' and since nobody actually did anything worth a dime before the election, they cant run on their record so they just run on slagging off their rivals

Countless variations of - It was because we didn't do [the thing that aligns with my worldview or my backer's whims], if we just do more of [thing that aligns with my worldview and/or backer's whims] we will win.

    “But what about Brexit?”
    “You’ve already had it.”
“We’ve had one, yes, but what about second Brexit?

You didn't do the communism brexit properly, it would've worked if you did it properly...

Thats basically their argument, that if we had Second Brexit with the ECHR that suddenly all of our problems will magically go away and the streets will be paved with gold. Yes it will mean that you will sacrifice MASSIVE amounts of protection and worker rights that people fought, bled and died to get. And some of you may die, but that is a sacrifice i am willing to make in order to make lives worse for immigrants, are you patriotic enough to piss your rights and protections up the wall to make life harder for a few immigrants ?? Dont worry, you can trust us to write legislation that puts SOME of those protections back right ?

Apparently, instead of representing the people of Clacton at Parliament (his actual job!), Farage has swanned off to Mar-A-Lago to kiss Trump's arse earhole better.

At least he's being consistent, what with being the MEP with the third lowest attendance, the other 2 being fellow U-kippers.

Never has a massive success been so disappointing. I wanted the Tories to be in third...

No surprises there, he's absolutely, totally reprehensible. He spent most of his time as an MEP claiming a salary and doing nothing (which imho amounts to something approaching embezzling public money), he'll do exactly the same as an MP.

Just checked and found an election result that I liked. George Galloway lost the seat he picked up in January.
