Exploiting the area for tourism when theres still dangerous levels of radiation is a bit crazy, even the offical tour will be on a set route and wandering is not encouraged, sounds like a place to visit.

Last thing i saw on Chernobyl was a documentary about a daughter of one of the scientists i believe going around the area as she had special permission for only short periods of time and staying on the roads as the radiation was too serve off the roads in the 30km exclusion zone.

Was quite a image to see the houses etc but until the new containment is put on and the last of the nuclear material is removed the area should not be open to tourists.

It's a free choice of the tourist to go there. As long as they know the risks I don't see any problems with letting people go there..

Yeah well said. I would still love to go there and see it all for myself though. So long as the guide kept the tour out of the radiation it would be great. If anyone wants to organize a Bit-Tech adventure, sign me up :D

I think people tend to overestimate the damage of minimal radiation in places like Chernobyl, when in reality, it's not much different than any other town or city. Obviously when you're standing next to the reactor or in the red forest, you're going to be getting dangerous doses, walking around in the street and not next to a huge pile of metal isn't that bad. People tend to forget that there's radiation everywhere.

    Ok so heres the plan

Bit-tech lan party inside reactor 4 we'll make desks from the radioactive materials

Me and BRAWL will nick the signs while we're there and drive back with the liquidators vehicles

Actually, probably very little. The really dangerous radionuclide will have dissipated and been washed away by now.

Maybe we can get a tour from these guys :D

Another epic video, this one of the Duga 3 "Russian woodpecker" and the site of units 5 and 6 of the NPP, which were never completed.

Who cares for the radiation... lets just get ourselves decked out in some seriously high-tech rad-resistant gear and go wandering... also a supply of...
