As much as it's personal opinion, they should make it a world heritage site so nothing can be changed. York is trying to do the same but Chernobyl and Pripyat are 10x more interesting and worth keeping *exactly* the same as they are.

If you go to her main site, there is LOADS of stuff on Chernobyl. Really interesting read and some of the pictures are amazing.

I'm in total agreement. They should have Pripyat, Chernobyl and about 3 miles out each way completly locked down from any kind of major development, they should de-radiate the area as much as possible and make sure things remain where they are. Once the new big protective systems are in place around the reactor anyway... They should try and strengthen the radio masts around there aswell, even if it's skeleton structure work up them, the entire place should be someone secured.
