Hi guys, How many of you guys are into rc cars, i thought it might be nice to see what you guys are thrashing about, also how many of you are rich enough to have bought the FG monster truck. Reason for asking, when looking at some of the photo's in the modding section i have seen a few of you have them tucked away in the background. Oh BTW please don't move to motors.
Hi, I have the HPI RS4 3 EVO (or something like that) Its your standard parking lot basher. changes I've made - new bottom plate (got it for free as the original was crooked) - Moter savers air filter - Fuel filter - Nice rims and better tires - Fuel tank without the little pump (cuz they cause leakage after a while) Last, but not least - THS Racing Exhaust (this baby gives me soooo much more power, it will probably ruin(sp?) my gears in no time) It has the HPI T-15 engine, and I'm really glad with it. I have a Futuba wheel transmitter, with digital finetuning. L :edit: I have the BMW M3 body And I have 2 friends who have the same basic car. One has the same body the other has a viper body. We don't have the same tuned parts though. But its alot fun to go and race with 3
i have a Tamiya Volvo 850 (FF01 chassis), a Tamiya Clod Buster (pretty heavy modded (brass tube stretch chassis (homemade)) and a kyosho Wild dodge Ram. (First version) I made a tuned exhaust for the WDR, and i blew my rear diff. The exhaust looked cool... dual pipes and stuff... it also had a much cooler sound... and performed better ofcourse. I also modded that crappy gearbox to have a brake instead of reverse... i don't use anoy of those any more though... it gets boring to drive around alone after a while..
Ive got a rather old Schumacher Cougar 2. Purchased from my cousin who did RC off-road racing , so the car was fairly well kitted out, we got a box of supplies from changing the suspension hardness, to the tyres and other replacement bits! CAnt remember the specs, been a long time since i last played with it. Its VERY fast, we're talking 0-30mph in a few seconds, so much so the battery only lasts as much as 15-20mins, charing it almost takes longer! Being a racing spec car reverse was, well, non-exsistent! Looks a bit like this When we bought it , with a black . red alternating checkered pattern ( with the racing number stickers still applied ), looked kinda poo, so we got a new shell and did a red and blue , with white striped, theme which looks much better! I'll take some pictures later if i get the chance. I more into flying RC things now, I have literrally HUNDREDS of RC planes, Control lined, ROCKET POWERED, gliders the works. Just recently purchased ( yesterday ) a mini RC helicopter Cant wait for it to arrive, ill definately get some pictures / movies of that flying!
Ive got about 20 in total and my FG monster truck will be coming in the new year soon as they go back to the Zenoah engines rather than the CY POS ones. Favourite one would have to be my Marder as its just a lot of fun and not much hassle
I used to have a Tamiya Fighter Buggy. Didn't use it anymore, so I sold it. It was driven by battery, so not the fastest, but it came pretty close to 60km/h...
I have an old vintage tamaya grasshopper that I restored to almost brand new condition and then replace the old crappy speed control with a new electronic one along with a new remote. That thing would fly for a battery powered RC car. Unfortunately it did fly, I was running it at the park and I went onto the road with it and well I didn’t realize the speed bump was there till the car was in the air. Needless to say the car flipped 8 times when it landed and after it stopped it ended up on its wheels it didn't even make it back to me before I could see that it no longer looked like it was in mint condition.
I have a fairly old Schumacher RST electric RC car. Been upgraded heavily since, new motor, speed controller etc. Got a RX8 body on it too
I have the second gen Traxxas T-Max. see link for pics. & mod details http://forums.bit-tech.net/showpost.php?p=444314&postcount=3
ive got an old lazer zxr which is nailed to my wall as i never use it, debating on making it into a pc though. hmmmmmm **runs off to find sff mobo prices**
I used to race a Schumacher Cougar 2000 a few years back. Most of the fun was derived from seeing all the people who took it really seriously!
Just a few of my collection can be found on my site http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~tux/rc.html I dont think any of the vids work anymore, on the site, I had to delete the files to make some room
