What's your processor, how're you measuring the temps, have you measured the temps with the system air cooled in the same fashion and know these temps to be high, and what's your load temp?

    Rob.

p.s. likely causes of poor water cooling temps are; air in the system, bad block fitting, constriction limiting water flow, bad radiator placement/cooling...

my processor is a Pentium 4 2.4ghz, im using CPUCool, and using the onboard sensors, and my mobo is a MSI 864, when i measured the temps w/ my standard p4 heatsink they were around the same degrees, as with the watercooling kit, and when im gaming, 98% load, it gets up to about 52*c

there are a few air bubles, that collect in the top of my radiator, and they come out every like 10-15 mins. the block fits nicely, im using artic silver 3, and the radiator is getting alot of air, though i do have it "pushing" air through, it is getting good flow

that is what i do, it looks like the pump is pumping water and in the water is VERY tiny bubbles, that eventually end up collected in the radiator, is there any way i can fix this?

I dont know enough about the p4 processor to know if the onboard sensor is good enough to get an accurate temp reading....Most of the time without the heatsink's fan there to blow cold air onto / around the cpu the sensor will just read the warm air around the cpu temp instead of the actually core temp....

Do you happen to have any pictures of your rig? Basicly it can be a billion different things so the more info we have the better.....

Your reserivor should be at the physical top of the loop. Do you have extra hose? If so, then put the pump/res in a drive bay.

I've used some course aqua filter sponge in my res to trap any air bubbles in the system and has done the trick. Point of note, the res is at the highest point of the system as Haddy suggested.

I use a temp probe directly touching the core and gets a reading of 32C Idle with a room temp of 25C. This is with a fan running at 145rpm.

Haven't finished all the testing as this is a new build. Good luck in your quest.

I would see if there is an update to your MSI drivers. I have an MSI NForce2 and it was giving me temps of 65C on my Athlon 2400+ (wil an SLK800 and 80mm 85cfm fan oni it!), updated the bios to version 3.5 and it dropped my temp down to 29C. I didn't quite trust that so I bought a Hardcano 9 and put the temperature sensor on the bottom of the CPU and it is actually at about 35C.

if your computer is stable and running at a good speed then dont worry too much about the temps.

The only reading I use is directly form the core. Many control panels have probes included in there function. Also some have a LCD for a visual reading.

No, it's mainly there to prevent corrosion.
