If I had a pound for every time people used an apostrophe inappropriately, I'd be rich as well ;)

    Grammar Nazi war?
    • ic's = plural abbreviation of "integrated circuit"
    • the're = abbreviation of "they are"
    • i'd = abbreviation of "i would"

You don't pluralise objects with an apostrophe, whether they're abbreviations or not. The plural of "IC" is "ICs". (Though in Sainsbury's the other day I saw a sign advertising "DVDs and CD's", which is an odd way of solving the problem.)

While true, ram doesnt really run hot, the fan is just there to have some airflow which is allready enough, of course, if you pump 3V+ through ddr2 you are going to need a heatsink as well as a fan, but thats voltages where its not questionable if the ram will die, but only a question of when.

    rant

I like the way the're looks, i don't like the way they're looks, and my apostrophes do what i want them to without any confusion. I can't be bothered making all my i's capital either, and i also dislike "warranty void if damaged" stickers on my stuff, i remove them as soon as warranty is up, and nazi's were a$$holes.
Damn cheap companies using up all of thier massive stockpile in the warehouse, or just simply taking advantage of slightly cheaper manufacture, instead of just using a couple of tamper proof paint dots and a painted on warranty condition, so we have to suffer with .1c worse temps :grr:

i'm almost ashamed to say i was annoyed by the same thing the other day. I got some Reaper HPC memory for a mod where you will be looking straight at it, and found a damn cheap looking crookedly placed fugly sticker on my expensive quality parts!

    childish? yes
    shallow? yes

    but still annoying :p
