Sorry for the old topic revival but I can't help it with what is wrote in here... First of all, I've searched for kargin and quebec to get here since I saw kargin's racist quote about quebec's frogs in Ubermich's sig... anyways yes there's dumb people here in Quebec... but there's also in Ontario, in BC and everywhere else in the world... generalizing is a proof that you can't elaborate a good critic, that you base your judgment on bad principles. You see, that's exactly what we are tired of hearing... but then!!! when we decide to try to split from Canada (which we lost because there's so many stupid people...), you guys don't want to... you can't stand us... but then you can't live without us... leaving you with the only solution mediocre people do: saying stupid racist comments about us over and over... Bah... the only thing that was said that was true was Ubermich's comment: He's perfectly right. there's a lot of racist comments going on and on, on each side, that really screw the harmony that some of us canadians hope for... and how can you try to do your best not bitching the english canadian when they come here laughing right in our face? (and surely vice-versa) God, a guy from Ontario (that was he was saying at least) told me that I was a "frog" (which is THE racist word we are categorized as) and he hated Quebec and loved the mighty Ontario... I was like: "WHAT? you came all the way from Ontario to Montreal's downtown, to grab the first french person you could find and tell him that???" I laughed and walk away. I could had beat him but then... I wouldn't had been much smarter than him... it's not everywhere you can say racist things to the people living there and expecting your butt not getting kicked. But we don't really hate english people... maybe my grand-father and great-grand-father but now it's a bad thing here saying racist comments about anyone even the english canadians. If I was to say racist comments about english people in Canada or any other people in the world in my univeristy classes, with my friends or to my girlfriend that comes from Oshawa, I would get my mouth shut very fast. You have to live here a bit to actually know who we really are... if there's a place filled with tolerance, it's pretty much sure is here. oh and by the way, sorry for the mistakes and the typos, after all I'm only a french canadian ^^
Its all from the English-French thing that we in blighty have. But thats all blast from the past stuff, its ingraned due to the hundred year war and many, MANY battles (waterloo etc.). The most recent major thing was the Falklands, The argintine airforce was supplies with weapons made by the french. Its just a very large general steriotype, ill give you an example, as a whole country (VERY GENERAL STEREOTYPE) we hate the french but ive personally never met a french person i dont like. Same with the americans and the germans (the list goes on). Its all a histoical thing which the ignorent masses use as some sort of giant nation bonding thing.
Hate Canada? But it's our largest and most beautiful state?! (j/k) I think we kid because we can, more of a friendly rivalry if anything. We have a lot of Canadian tourists that come to the beaches in South Carolina, they are always really nice laid back folks IMO. I love BC, just like the NW of the US but wilder one of my favorite places I've been.
I don't hate Canada. I love Canada because my favorite corporation has their headquarters in Markham, Ontario.
As a lot of people said, we don't really hate Canada, we just like to poke fun (me, at least). South Park adds to the fun as well. Whenever I talk about D-Day I like to poke fun by mentioning that the Canadians rode bikes. Albeit it isn't a bad idea, its just a funny notion.
Honestly, being childish is not a very bright idea, if you wish to be ignorant to me directly, use the "private message" button, as this isn't the place. Well, it's either that, or continue and get a mod pissed at ya Your choice. Anyway, enough of that. I honestly don't see where anybody could get off saying that any majority in Canada is racist, ignorant, or just stupid. I've traveled to most of the provinces (except a few in the east) and very rarely have I come across any glint of racism. Yeah, sure, we'll poke a few jokes at the newfies, maybe slam the joke of a government we've got, or even hint at good ol' Ralph's drinking problem, but none of it could be classified as racism. Taking a gun out and shooting somebody because they have a slightly different tone of skin than you do is racism. And anyways, snow makes for good "water" cooling.... Oh, and on a side note, yeah, a lot of ignorant Americans (not saying they all are, just most of emm that use ATTWS) hate Canadians. Where I work (call center for ATTWS) we are not allowed to say we are located in Canada as "it may cause our customers distress" ATTWS = ATT Wireless
That is a sore point and im very dissapointed with the RN for that one, however when you get your funding cut ( [and decide to have an all nuclear sub force]) and you have no use for highly manouverable quiet (when running on electric) desil subs then what can you do. Personally i wouldnt have allowed the sale of them in the condidtion they were in and simmerally i wouldnt have bought them without giving them the once over. It's the basic jeering at the neighbours thing. From Mexborough, Denaby is full of pikeys and Wath full of toffs, from Yorkshire we mock the Lancastrians with their whippets and George Formby accents, from England we laugh at the Welsh (who in turn laugh at sheep), Scots, and Irish (sheep laugh at them) and the UK thinks the French are Ooh La La. With the Americans having a basically similar language but a weird way of using it (wtf does 'leverage' mean?) we've taken them on-board (sorry, Americanisms are catching) as a source of urine. If this post offends any sheep I apologise.

I wish I could remember the name of the comedian... he has a whole standup bit that seems completely racist to -- well -- everyone. i think that was dennis leary, if the guy smoked a lot and yelled, then it was definately him. most americans don't hate canada, we poke fun at it, and make movies where we declare war on them, but only racist losers with small and malfunctioning genitalia (thank you penski for that one) actually hate a whole class of people (canadian, blacks, jews, mac lovers, etc.) only people who live in southern states are racist... all of them...
