Has anyone else had any trouble buying an xbox live gold subscription from the official site? I've just tried 3 times and each time when I click confirm payment I get taken back to the enter details page with no error message, I've verified all the details, and checked to make sure it hasn't gone through (I'm still registered as silver) This is really pissing me off, its bad enough that they make you use a credit card, they don't accept debit cards, but it looks like I'm gonna have to wait until the weekend to buy a subscription in a shop
They accept debit cards. That's what I use for my Live and Zune subscription. As long as it's backed by Visa, MasterCard, etc. they will take it. Try upgrading through your Xbox 360?
How long will it take to receive an online one? I wan't to be on gold as soon as possible, don't mind paying a bit extra for the convininece. Also, how do you know if your debit card is backed by visa or mastercard? I've got 2 Maestro cards, usually when I buy online I have to choose Maestro or Switch/Maestro.
Most of the ones I use email the code. Same with points. Maestro isn't backed by Visa or Mastercard, it's the old Switch/Solo
if your in such a rush go to a game shop. could you not subscribe for a year through your 360 and just take your credit card off after the payment goes through?
I would, but I'm trying to be more disciplined with work this year, so no trips to the shops on week days when I should be working. Just remembered I wanted to part exchange my old ps2 anyway, so gotta go to a shop, and definitely don't like the sound of MS holding on to my card details.
They have the Visa or MasterCard logo on the face of the card. Switch/Maestro is strictly UK, from what I've seen. We don't have them here in the States. I have a SHAZAM Chek debit card from my bank, then it has the Visa logo in the corner of the card.
I love how you can do everything on the website except cancel your subscription. FYI your CC information even if done on the web still links shows up on your 360. I think the best way is to just buy monthly cards, that way you don't use your CC info and you can cancel without calling microsoft. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16874103030
This is a very recommended place for buying 13 month cards at £29.99 Link Usually e-mails the code within a few hours of purchase
I just got mine from a game station, traded in some old ps2 games and controllers, (turned out my PS2 had evolved into a brick in the two years I haven't touched it) 12months gold only cost me £18 though, so an epic win I feel.
