I have the dell 2005fpw (20.1") and it's such a good monitor, great response times and the sharpness is great.

Although now I'm considering a 24"er as the 20.1" seems to have got too small for my liking!

The Dells have the extra inputs for Xbox, etc, which is very useful. I would recommend the Dells.

I'm not planning on selling it yet, probably gonna be sometime in the summer. I've only had this one for a few weeks!

If you want to save money, get a refurbished one, mine is refurbished and it's in perfect condition. But I have to warn that YMMV, you might get dead pixels or bad casing, looks like I was just lucky.

OCUK had them pretty cheap compared to the Dell website around christmas time, I'm not sure what the prices are like now. The Dell also has a USB hub, which comes in very handy. Love the picture-in-picture mode too.

Damn, get too many messages! Thanks for letting me know!

Yea, watch out of deals on dell monitors, some are so great, if there's another deal on the 24" I'll get getting it I think, especially if the prices are going to fall with the new revision out.

The USB hub can be handy, but I don't use it myself, but the multiple inputs are great, I switch between two computers (one is a test rig) and a PS2, very handy.

Don't most of the 20.1" widescreens use the same panels, just with different casing and features?

The height is the same as a 17" LCD. Actually 26pixels higher.

Correct. However after some time you tend to feel that the height is smaller than 17" monitors, which is what the width does. Now I wish I did get the 24" monitor, at first I thought it was too big, but now I realise it isn't too big, the 30" one is probably too big.

I have a 17" widescreen scepter (sp?) and it feels huge compaired to my 17" at work

You should remember that some of the 24" + widescreens require dual DVI input to get them to work. almost all of the 30" do.

Dell use the same panel as Apple do in their CinemaDisplay screens. Which is certainly very good.

I have the 2005fpw and wish id bought the 2405 aswell... waiting on next paycheck now.

I never thought Id think 1680x1050 was too small! :hehe:
