somthing strange happend to me today. my omputer did the shutdown thing that happens from the blaster virus. the wierd part is im not infected. i ran NAV on my system and it found nothing. i also went to go remove it manualy and it wasnt there. what also makes it wierd is that it happend to me a year ago, before blaster exist. anybody know what the hell is going on?

Maybe the remote procedure call service or another service crashed for some reason, not due to blaster. The default setting for some services if they crash is to restart the computer. You can change this by going into control panel > administrative tools > services and changing what action the system takes if certain processes fail.

i wasnt hacked at all. it probably was just a fluke and a program crashed. i cant even apply the patch becasue there is no virus. it sacared me becuase i have never been infected with a virus before (except for the few times i put one on a junk system).

try windows key+pause / advanced / startup and recovery / uncheck automatically restart.

if a system failure happens, the comp won't reboot.

that was alredy unchecked. that is for the BSoD reboots. blaster does somthing to a system process that causes a countdown timer to shut down the computer.

that box prevent the same countdown timer... anyways, if that was unchecked already, then it could be a services problem...
