    Yo all.

I have a bog standard off the self PC (my mates) with WiFi. On my Asus A8V I have software with the mobo but this has got standard Win XP WiFi. How can I setup a Software Access point. Can't remember the network time for it though.

    Any ideas? Cheers...

Ben, I think I can help you. You need to go into network connections and allow adhoc connections. So then when other computers try to access it they would be allowed to. I hope this solves your problem, I am not to certain i fully understand your quesiton.

Start>Contorl Panel > Network Connections > Wireless Network > Right Click > Properties > Configure > Advanced > Make sure adhoc is enabled.
