Anyone else saving up for a Wii on launch day? What you gonna get and stoof? So. my fund is at £216 cash + £34 Wii credit. = £250 Here's What Im after * Wii Console pack @ £180 * Red Steel Zelda @ £40 * Wii play + Extra Wii Remote @ £35 * extra nunchuck @ £15 Total = £270
luckily for me my brother is getting one launch day, so im gonna get another controller set and super monkey ball. still a fair amount to spend on just those tho
Just the console here, I'm not entirely sure that my Woolworths pre-order will work though. I'll probably buy Zelda and Rayman though to go with it and when I'm feeling rich, a extra controller and nunchuk.
I'm hoping to get one for my birthday (parents want to give me something special) then I'll buy Red Steel, Zelda and Rayman. My housemate is getting one aswel.
Got Zelda, Red Steel and Wii on preorder with Extra controller and GT-thingy with a bundled "wheel" adapter for christmas.
Traded in DS + 4 games = £105 Wii credit. Birthday Amazon Voucher = £40 (Zelda Pre-ordered) Birthday WHSmith Vouncher = £20 (I'm hoping they'll have Wiimotes) So I only have to pay £75 cash on the day.
I think the best way to get a 'mote if the run out is to get that Wii play game. Thats what I might do anyway.
Get Wii play and you get a free Wii mote, then just buy a Nunchuck. I'm getting Rayman Raving Rabbids, Zelda, Wii Play and The consolde bundle
wii component cable zelda extra controller I tried to change my order to get Wii play instead of the controller but I was advised not to if I wanted to see the 2nd controller before christmas. I can live with waiting for the component cable but I want 2 remotes ASAP. Might get wii play next year.
Spent $320 or so the first day I could get my hands on one. Wii, Zelda, and sales tax. I hope to pick up a component cable, extra Wiimote (and probably nunchuck), couple of those controller skins (something rubberized so it's not slippery in my always-sweaty palms) and probably a sling bag. I really wish that I picked up the accessory bundle when I bought the thing, but oh well. Though, honestly, the component cable is almost more for convenience than image quality - it's not that bad with composite, and I always stick my monitor in the wrong mode since I always change to component out of habit. Images are a bit soft with the composite, but it almost acts as free antialiasing of sorts.
Yus, no point getting a remote for £29 or so when you can get Wii Play for £32! I'm getting the Console and Wii Play.
Damnit I wish I'd pre-ordered one now. I completely underestimated how much I would really want one come Christmas.
console and zelda being shipped to me by amazon and woolworths. i have £15 credit at HMV which i will probably be picking wii play and a component cable from there on the day, too they _must_ be popular: woolworths have sold out!!
argos have sold out too, my brother got an email from them saying no more orders because they have sold their allocation, but all pre orders will be met on time.
I really want one and it took very little convincing for my lady to want a Wii too. Alas, they are hard to come by here in the states. I guess I'll probably wait a year or so, until then I have better things to do. Until then, I have about $400 to save!!
I actually got to see a Wii in real life being played today in my local GAME store. Sadly the staff weren't letting anyone else play (or so it appeared) so I'm going back tomorrow to have a proper go if they will let me They were having trouble getting golf working properly though. One member of staff took 5 swings of the 'mote before it actually registered his swings correctly. I think he was just being a spaz though On topic though. I'm quite lucky that the g/f and I have decided its going to be a 50/50 split for an early crimbo pressie so we are going to be getting: Wii = £179 Zelda = £40? (whats the actual shop price of games anyway as online is £40) Rayman or Monkeyball = £40? Wii Play (with wiimote) = £35 Nunchuck = £15 Total = £309 I've also heard rumors that cables won't be available at launch so I'm not sure on that front. Now I've totalled it it seems pretty expensive :/
I picked one up here in the US two weeks ago on launch day. Red Steel and Zelda were my two titles I picked up. Twilight Princess is easily one of the best games I've played, period. The final boss battles are a sight to behold. I haven't put much time into Red Steel but I like what I've played thus far. It does take some time getting used to how the game controls. I can see how this game is a love it or hate it title, so I recommend people rent it first if they can. I've been trying to find an S-Video cable for the Wii here in the US since I don't have anything with component jacks. Do they offer a SCART cable for the Wii in Europe?
