It's pretty difficult to impulse-buy something that flies off the shelves within 10 minutes of a delivery when stores are getting 3 units a week...

I don't have a Wii, but I still certainly want one!

And on top of that I'm after one because I think that in someways they are the correct way for console's to move, not becuase of what that Sony Guy said.

Well hehe how unexpected from Sony to throw the blame at Wii. I guess they know for sure now that the numbers are going to be quite bad on the following financial statement to the Shareholders.

They should just admit that PS3 was a screw up.. to narrow market and expensive. :sigh:

My housemate got one just before xmas...it's fantastic.

Wii is suffering from shortages because they're selling like hot-cakes, and the PS3 is widely available because no-one is buying them!

    Impulse buy? My arse!

First sentence in the fifth paragraph needs reworded - "believed to be shipping... are shipping"

And yes, I'm laughing at Sony like everyone else :)

I got my wii on midnight on 8th December that's 9 hours before normal shop opening. and it was not impulsive i loved the concept of the wii from watching videos and dribbled thinking about one and laughed my head of at all of sonys problems. yes the wii doesnt have blu-ray yes the wii dont have HD-DVD but continous intaractive game the wii has that and the wii also reaches the market for people with less money. i love my wii and i always play on it around 3 to 4 times a week as i have 2 jobs.

If i were to buy a console, it'd be a wii. But I'm not in a console kinda place right now :)

But just taking a look at Ebay - they seem to be selling for well over £200, and Amazon want over £300. Play are still listing them at the original £180, but no stock. Impulse buy, maybe. But it certainly doesn't look like one that's having difficulty finding buyers. I know which boat I'd rather be in if I were Sony.

Well, it seems someone's determined to hide that fact that their console isn't as popular as another.

    I've got my Wii, I'm happy. :)

lulz, even if it is an impulse buy, it's still a better console than your's mate.

After playing my mates, I would buy a Wii just for Wii sports, it's a fantastic console.

Wii Sports and Zelda were the main reasons why I got mine, but I was even able to get my parents into playing the Wii with the help of Wii Sports, and they hate video games, so how's that for a good console, eh? :p

    I think it's simple:
Wii focused the "joy" in playing, and Sony tried to be the most resourcefull videogame ever made fogeting the fact that people who buy consoles are loking for fun.

    Actually a very common mistake...

PS3 is like a (expensive) porn movie with a very intricate story and lot's of CG in it.

Although it sounds ridiculous, that's actually a really good analogy.

Personally i think it's a shame that Sony has fallen flat on its face. The PS3 concept was kinda cool and we definitely need someone to compete with Microsoft at the "high" end. I can't see them recovering, in the gaming sector, from this though.
