Wii / Wii U Wii problem

Consoles power LED goes on when power is supplied but it won't give out any tv signal and Wii remotes will not sync/connect to it.
It does take discs and eject them again though.
Tried resetting/taking out power cable and putting it back/etc.

I'm hoping it resolves itself as i was really hoping to play Mario galaxy on Xmas and i'll have to return it to America for a replacement as it's imported.

any ideas on what might help?

What power is going into it? Has it got the correct transformer etc for the UK?

I forgot to mention it's worked for the last 12 months since American launch.

Am gonna leave it for a day unplugged and try it again. if still no luck i guess it's off to canada after boxing day

 

Damn, doesn't sound good. One reason I never import.
