Nova <- Where on this planet are you situated?
Err, Germany ^__^ Would pay some shipping if it's not like uuuber expensive.
nOva <-- I'll take a look at it... Might use it for something else though...
It's TWINS! YAY!
So far so good! The reservoirs as of now:
They are 220 mm's high and the aluminum is 70 mm outside diameter!
Still have a couple of thoughts about these, I might polish the aluminum for a bling-effect!
I need to install the pump in 1 of the res'es, 7 fittings in each res, and a fillport and outlet. My economy is a bit like the state of California this month though, so this will be in the start of january!
Got a couple of ideas about the pump also, I will look into those during the next cpl of days.
That's it for now boys and girls!
Genius man , ive seen Xbox 360 watercooled and Ps3 too but never wii .. continue with this !!!!
If you're mixing aluminum and copper, prepare for some corrosion.
stonedsurd <-- Lucky me then, cuz I'm not.
I've not been clear enough, and you can hardly tell from the picures, but the aluminum is on the outside of the res, hence it does not have any contact with the fluid.
Besides that, there will be no copper in the loop at all... I am aware that copper moves heat about twice as well as aluminum, but it's hardly nescessary on a Wii!
Plus if you got the aluminum annodised you woulnt have the problem.
Loving the res's! Some really nice machining there mate. Mod on!
Thanks, if you decide anything just send me a PM
This is nice btw! Awesome modding right here!
"W" is for Water December 16 The birth of a reservoir
On the s&w cages it seems they only have a 2dr cage... i dont know how much the cars differ on interior dimensions but do you know if itll fit correctly, or at least not look terrible in there?
If you know how to TIG, it'd be cool to make the res look like a big W with the arms clear and the angles Al.
SeewRipsmem <-- I fail to understand what you are talking about... Except... No... I'm at a loss...
barry99705 <-- Sorry... I can't quite get into my head how you mean?
The word of the day is... VERDAMMT!
It seems I scared the **** out of my pump...
A bit more... Aaaand a bit more... oOOps, too much!
I was off to a great start, and wanted to create a new housing for it... Had to mod it a bit:
Look, it's an onion!
I had already died and gone to heaven at the 2nd picture...
Now I'm gonna have to find a new pump, and a smaaaaall one too... Well, there's a lot more to tackle before my next paycheck allows me to buy one, so let's see where the next few days takes me!
SeewRipsmem = Bot
@Barry - You want 4 reservoirs fused at the ends to make a 'W' shape, right?
Edit: ouch! Ask around. Who you are, what you have done, and what you are doing now are very sponsor-able things.
Or...You could make a new housing.
A new pump : phobya 260 or 400
The word of today is .... YAY!
Since wrecking the pump, I wanted to torture myself and see what could be wrong, as the blue LED inside was still working!
A very wise man asked me if I had cut some of the print away, and maybe removed something I shouldn't have...
Low and behold, I had!
Taken with my cellphone through a magnifying glass:
A lesson in electricity - Angel style!
Danish electricity is apparently waaaaay to high class and way to lazy to do any work.
Despite my very convincing shouting, it completely denied to jump the small gap between A & B.... Lousy goodfornothing ¤%#&¤"!#¤
Hence, I had to bridge it.
I milled away the plastic beneath, to reveal the copper on the print:
A little piece of wire, some soldering, and VOILA! :
Ye Olde Pump had sprung back to life!
It now seems Cheapskate shall have his X-mas wish, since I need a housing for it.
I'm going out to eat tonight, but I'll make a sketch of the plan later.
Actually, it's not gonna be a complete housing, more of a semi housing/pumptop.
I hope it works out, guess we'll see laters!
Well I don't want it, but yea, that's the idea. Except, one big res, not four. Input on one end, output on the other. Would work pretty well for pulling bubbles out as well. If I can figure out how to do it in sketchup I'll draw it up.
