    Which games in particular?

Most of the time a second GPU helps but some games still hit CPU limits.

Mostly fps, driving and open world games. Looking at the new Battlefield when it comes out

As long as its not cpu limited you would likely see increase in average fps. Wether or not your minimums go up would depend on the game and the drivers.

Your CPU (i5 3570k)is actually quite good IMHO, so I'd say a second card is sensible. What resolution are you playing at?

Also, what type of PSU do you have?
